April Ross

April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball players who have won medals during several Olympics. Alix Klineman, playing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics and will attempt to win her third medal. Ross aims to earn an Olympic the first medal of gold, however, she also hopes to earn even more. Since she's 39 years old and has a long way to go, this could be her final chance. She's certain that the top prizes can be achieved. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, or even a good game her team will be able to win the gold medal. In addition, I'll try the opportunity to try my luck. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and sister. While at Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many sports. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball as well as basketball as well as track and running. However, she was a standout during this game. During her high school career she played middle blocker, outside hitter and setter at the tennis court as per her bio at the college. Her efforts were recognized when she was named 1999 Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Player of the Year. The skills she showed in volleyball also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman formed their partnership in 2017, However, Ross has been a beach celebrity for a long time prior to. As a matter of fact Ross has won a number of significant tournaments during her time with two partners. One is a volleyball legend. Ross teamed up together with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also was Klineman's coach. Along together with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they won a gold medal. They were beaten out for the gold medal by the legendary team of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). The fate of the matter was that Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They went on to compete for the bronze beach volleyball trophy in the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross was a student athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to the start of her professional career. She played in high school and in years prior to hitting the beach as a professional. It was a successful run for Ross at the school. In 2000, as a freshman the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. In 2000, her Trojans made it to the Final Four. She endured a great personal defeat in her sophomore year however, she was successful in achieving the All-American award. Over the course of her final two seasons with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them win consecutive championships. The individual accomplishments of her have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross was a student of International Relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the privilege of watching her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. She continues to cherish her late parent. Margie is a source of inspiration, both off and on of the shore.
