Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She has written fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family at 16 years old. At Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. She was the first student who was not from the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. After her graduation, she became an influential right-wing syndicated reporter. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present politics. Her fame helped to attract several famous contributors who shared their views on current events, politics and culture. Arianna was famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent in the California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of an initiative in Detroit that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. She was named The Most influential women in media according to Forbes in 2009, and was awarded 12th position on that list. In the same year Guardian named her on the top 100 media list. AOL, Inc. named her president of their media group in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included the other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos the Journalism and management expert. Her life was shaped by her closeness to her mother, and the bond she shared with her father despite her being very close to the latter. In her earliest period, she displayed leadership skills for which her name is still well-known. When she was 16 years old her family moved in England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college, where she was the third and first female to serve as the president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic, and a television host. Additionally, she starred alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with his editing assistance.
